This is my kids new favorite cartoon to watch. It's totally from the 80's. They love it and watch it on hulu.

Ten on Tuesday

1. Caleb started taking his first steps yesterday. Sadly I wasn't there to see it and when I got home he just wanted me to hold him. But He did it again today! He only take like two or three steps but we all get very excited!!! I tried to post a video but after waiting like 15 minutes for it to download I gave up. It was a horrible video anyways but I just wanted to document it.

2. Caleb likes to pull on the letter magnets off the fridge. Today I gave him a container and showed him how to put them in and he liked it. Kept him busy for about 15 minutes.
3. It's been a long known fact that we have too many toys in our house. I've wanted to rotate them for a long time but haven't done it. I took action today. Just a small action. I went through Caleb's baby toys and books and divided them in to three groups. I put two away and kept one out. It makes for a much neater shelf! But storage is limited too so finding a place to store the extra toys is challenging.

4. While I was putting the baby books in one of the closets I discovered that I have a lot of brown paper grocery bags. So the kids and I made some masks out of them.

Daniel, Brianna, and Matthew
Here's mine.
Caleb didn't have one so we just put a basket on his head.

5. Daniel convinced me to not put a pull up on him last night. He went to the bathroom before bed and when he does that he often wakes up dry in the morning. He was so sure that if he had to go pee he would wake up and go. I was awaken at about midnight by him. He was totally soaked. I just love taking off pee clothes in the middle of the night. There's no way I was going to change his sheets at that hour so I just let him sleep with me.

6. Danny worked on the set of a new HBO movie today. Pretty cool.

7. I've started helping coach on a softball team. Getting back into the game again. I'm wanting to start giving pitching lessons. Hoping to start making some money on the side that way.

8. I'm watching Super Troopers right now. It's one of Danny's favorite movies.

9. I've decided that I want to move to a place where I can live on a lake. But I would like to take my California weather, my church, my parents, my in laws, and Brianna's school. Maybe a few friends too.

10. My aunt Norma passed away on Sunday. She's my dad's sister and lived in Missouri. When I was growing up my family went to Kansas and Oklahoma every summer. (That's where my dad is from and all his side of the family lives.) My aunt Norma and Uncle Bill lived on Grand Lake in Grove, Oklahoma. I have so many memories of being on the lake there with my family. I haven't seen my aunt in many years. I wish I could of gone back for her funeral. My heart is really sad.

This Week

I couldn't find my camera for several days and missed a lot of photo opportunities. Of course I then found it in my purse. Ya know, I was a lot smarter before I had kids. They better use all the brain juice they've sucked from me for good.
Here's some shots of the kids and their cousins.

Chris all dressed up to fight the dragon.
Brianna holding the princess, king, cowboy for ransom.
I took pictures of all the kids sleeping. They are so peaceful!

Daniel
Matthew
This one of Brianna is my favorite because she fell asleep with her Bible next to her. She made me promise that we would look up Matthew 17:20 in the morning (her VBS Bible verse)
Beautiful Alyssa
Chris
Jesse

I took a couple of the kids with me to a swim party that Brianna was invited to. Daniel jumped into the water and as he did he turned around and knocked his chin on the ledge of the pool. Here's the gash he got. I was afraid that he would have to go get stitches. The bleeding stopped pretty quick and I tried to close it up with a band aid. He should be alright. Here's the picture Danny took to show Daniel.

I got a hair do make over yesterday. I think Alyssa's goal was to use every barrette we had.

All the kids at VBS.
Caleb is getting brave. Still not walking though.

Ten on Tuesday

Let's see how quick I can come up with ten things to type. It's now 11:05 pm. I need to get to bed so I need to make this quick. I guess I can count this as 1.

2. My brother's kids are staying with us this week. Two boys and one girl. So we now have seven kids at our house. Someone said I was insane and I think I am. I love my nephew and neice so much though that I'm willing to deal with the insanity.

3. 5 out of the 7 kids are in VBS this week. The theme is Big God. It's based on the men and women in the Hall of Faith in Hebrews. Jesse and Daniel didn't like it the first night but Bri, Alyssa, and Chris loved it! I went to pick them up the second night and Jesse had a huge smile on his face the whole time I was spying on him during their ending worship! He said he liked it tonight. That made me so happy. Daniel said that he still didn't do anything. I know that's not true because i spied on him and saw him doing a craft. He's my child that doesn't really like new things. He tends to have a hard time adjusting. He'll probably love it by Friday, then it'll end.

4. I've been asking each of the kids what they like best about VBS. I am so stoked that when they tell me what they did they always talk about the Bible story. They relate what ever they liked best to the story. So far they've told me all about Rahab, Jericho(Joshua), Moses, and David and Goliath. This is the first time attending VBS at Reality. I am very impressed and delighted at how the kids are talking about the Bible stories.

5. My heart is very sad. Little Daisy Love (six years old), who just finished her chemo treatment for cancer two months ago is now back in the hospital. She has another tumor the size of a grapefruit in her abdomen. She has the biopsy in the morning. Many are praying for the tumor to be benign or just plain not there anymore.
Having a daughter her age just adds to my heartache.

6. My son woke up at 5:40 this morning. I did not like it! I left him in his bed (which is in our room) and kept sshhhing him and telling him to lay down and go night night. He never went back to sleep but did lay back down and keep relatively quiet tille 6:30. Can you see now why I need to get to bed.

7. I have a confession to make. Today was the first beautiful sunny day in Ventura in a long time and I took the kids to Chuck E Cheese. I know, I know, it was a perfect pool or beach day. It's just that we already had it planned before we saw the beautiful sunshine. Oh well, I'm taking some of them to a pool party tomorrow. Hopefully the sun stays around.

8. My uncle and cousins are coming next week from Kansas. My uncle Vic is my dad's twin brother. For those that know my dad, yes there's two of him. His daughter, my cousin Ann Marie has two boys that I've never met and she's never met my kids. We are so excited!

9. I've been stressing out and debating for quit some time about getting a job. I have some new ideas that I'm excited about. I don't know how or if they will work out. I need to be more assertive in my pursuits. We'll see.

10. It is now 11:26 so it took me a little over 20 minutes to write this post. Good night!

Cow Appreciation Day @ Chick Fil A

We are quit a bunch! Here are our cow costumes for free food! Daniel wanted to be an alien cow, hence the green. Brianna, Daniel and I had a lot of fun making our costumes although it took more time then I probably should of spent on it. My goal was to make this a real "FREE" meal so I didn't buy anything to make the costumes. I just used what I could find at the house.
Look, Bri has cow slippers. Who knew that these hand me down slippers would come in handy.
Look at that hunky cow in the middle! He's hot!
The sign on Caleb's back. The cows would be so proud!
Family picture with the Chick Fil A cow.
Grandma and Bri doing crafts together.

Grandma found a cow hat to wear. She didn't want to dress up. She said she would rather pay for her food then dress up like a cow. We were happy to have her company!
My two cow boys
Matthew and grandma enjoying some good chicken.
I think grandma is trying to make Caleb laugh.
Caleb and his big sissy.
My alien cow loves me!
Daddy and daughter
I love my alien cow.

Ten on Tuesday

1. Tonight Brianna had a "show" for us. She brought out a bunch of stuffed animals to watch with us. Her brothers ended up dancing along too.

2. During the dance show Caleb stood up by himself, not holding on to anything for the first time.

3. Brianna is determined that we are going to do homeschool this summer so I've been trying to come up with some fun activities to do with her. Today we did ice cream math and a long a word search. I think we'll start a word wall to help her with her writing. Turns out she loves to journal write and I want to encourage that.

4. Our mini vacation in Bakersfield was fun. We we went for four days. My brother just moved to a house with a pool in the backyard so we swam everyday. Brianna woke up yesterday morning and the first thing she said was, "I already miss Bakersfield." They loved being there.

5. While in Bakersfield we went to an engagement party for my nephew. It was beautifully decorated. I think this was the first engagement party I've ever been to. The only other time I heard about one was on the movie "The Wedding Singer".

6. Went to see Iron Man 2 at the cheap theater last night with Chelsie. I love Iron Man movies.

7. I wanted to go see the opening of "Eclipse" tonight but they sold out before I could get tickets. :(

8. I need to get exercise but am often stuck at home all day without a car and don't want to take all the kids out for a walk (I need both Caleb and Matthew in a stroller and my double stroller has a flat tire). So today I found some workout videos on U Tube. I did some yoga and a little bit of Zumba. Brianna did it with me. It was fun!

9. I'm hoping the we get to go to the fourth of July parade on Sunday. Danny's back is really sore so we'll probably just watch from the sidelines and collect candy. (Like my kids need more candy.)

10. I sewed my first thing. I made one of Brianna's shirts that was too small for her into a bag. I still need to take a picture of it.

Ten on Tuesday

1. I know that if my frequency of blogging was graded I would currently have a D-. I'll try to do better. I promise. :)

2. We have a huge success in our family, Matthew is now going to sleep in his own bed!!!!! It is so wonderful!!!!! I seriously thought we would have to lay with him for him to go to sleep until he was like 8 years old and we could reason with him. I believe it's all by God's grace!!

3. Danny and I have been watching different stand up comedians on Netflix at night. Some of them are too crude for me but it's great to laugh a lot when we find some good ones!

4. To help Matthew to sleep in his own bed Danny grabbed a stuffed animal for him to sleep with. Too bad he wasn't paying attention and grabbed a bunny in a tutu! Now Matthew carries the tutu bunny around the house.

5. Last Saturday we were at a birthday party. I had walked outside and when I was coming in I opened the screen door not knowing that Caleb was standing up against it. He did a face plant. My poor Caleb.

6. The pastor at my church's daughter was diagnosed with cancer last fall and has just completed 7 or so months of chemotherapy. They put an awesome video on her prayer page I think everyone should watch. Grab a tissue.

7. My precious baby girl is graduating from kindergarten tomorrow. I'm usually not sappy sad about my kids growing up but for some reason I've become emotional about her getting older. I am so proud of her and am excited about her being a 1st grader but I'm realizing that she's not going to be my little girl forever.

8. Danny built and put up cabinets and shelves in the kids room. So now I have all the toys that Matthew and Caleb shouldn't get on their own up high. It has made the kids room so much neater because Matthew is not grabbing board games and puzzles and legos and throwing them all over the room.

9. I don't like how I have to put pictures on my blog. It's a big hassle. I keep wondering if there is some other way to do it that I don't know about.

10. My boys have been so cuddly lately, especially Daniel and Matthew. They are such mama's boys right now. I know they won't be like that forever. I'm takin it all in and trying to enjoy every moment of it.
